Because we has neglect agriculture for years and not used technological methods, conscious watering, agricultural spraying and fertilizing, we cannot meet our needs. Green lentil is consumed completly wthin two months after harvest and we import the needed lentil from the Canada that takes lentil seed from our country and makes cultivation by expanding plantation areas. Because our production amount of green lentil which was an export item in 1980s is reduced, it meets very small amount of our country need. It is an important food source with its fibre structure and iron and magnesium content. Especially, it is recommend to be consumed by the women in breast feeding period, the ones which has indigestion and diabetes problems.
